The Business Development Representative (BDR) is responsible for generating new business opportunities by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing prospective clients. This role plays a key part in driving revenue growth by building strong pipelines for the sales team and creating meaningful connections with potential customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Generation: Identify and research potential clients through outbound calls, emails, social media, and networking platforms.
- Prospect Qualification: Understand customer needs, evaluate fit, and qualify leads.
- Pipeline Development: Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of prospects and schedule qualified meetings/demos for the sales team.
- Outbound Outreach: Execute structured outreach sequences (calls, emails, LinkedIn) to engage decision-makers and create interest.
- CRM Management: Maintain accurate records of all interactions, lead statuses, and follow-ups in the CRM.
Collaboration
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Solution teams to align messaging, campaigns, and prospects’ needs.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or related fields (preferred).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle high-volume outbound outreach.
- Understanding of sales processes and lead qualification.
- Proficiency with CRM tools (Zoho, Salesforce etc)
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and resilient.
- Ability to learn industry concepts quickly.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1–2 years of experience in sales, BDR role, or customer-facing positions.
- Familiarity with outreach tools (e.g., Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator).
- Experience in technology, SaaS, or service-based industries.
